SBS Rice

Sun-Tommy International was authorized to import rice under Japanese Government SBS system in 2012. Under this system、we are importing rice from California, Thailand and China.
SBS rice system is so called “simultaneous buy-and-sell system” in which both buyer (mainly user such as food manufacturing company) and seller (importer) simultaneous bid at this Government tender for doing sales and purchase.

Japanese Domestic Rice

We deal in unpolished rice and polished white rice produced in Japan for table rice.
Our main suppliers are located in Hokkaido, Aomori, Iwate, Akita, Fukushima, Nagano and other areas.

Regarding rice produced in Nagano prefecture, we started to buy directly from rice growers in 1996 and has been increasing its quantity year by year.

Rice for food manufacturing industry

We deal in both non-glutinous rice and glutinous rice for food manufacturing industry such as miso, Japanese wine, rice cracker, Japanese distilled liquor, etc.
We also produce rice flour and animal feed rice since the Japanese Government started to make a subsidy in 2009 to rice flour manufactures/users/and animal feed rice farmers.
